            Abstract

The talented subject is that one who, relying upon abilities, performance capacities and actual surrounding’s conditions, reaches a superior level of performance (eventually verified within a competition) as compared with is average age, which represents the foundation for a process of active transformation, pedagogically monitored, driven by training and systematically oriented to a certain performance level.

            Identification process of most of the talented athletes, who would participate in a training program, is one of the most important objectives in nowadays sports. In the world of sports, it is important to discover the most gifted athletes, who would be selected at early ages, then continually monitored and assisted in order to reach the highest master level.

            It is analyzed the issue of probability to surely foresee talent, for a better selection activity, relying upon the results highlighted as effect of an attentive study of the components which characterize the athletic talent. For this purpose, it is required to the attentive knowledge of the biological development stages, so that the recorded data can be correctly interpreted (physiological data, anthropometrics, motric tests etc.). Also, it is needed the observation of other critical factors like surrounding, familial factors etc. and, especially, development and learning abilities during the training process.
